ABUSING THE LAW

DANGEROUS paedophiles are slipping out of Britain to child sex hotspots all over the world without being monitored, a People investigation has found.
Britain has laws to stop convicted sex beasts from travelling abroad and abusing kids but we can reveal these measures are NOT working.
Police can apply to magistrates for a Foreign Travel Order to prevent convicted sex offenders going abroad.
But child protection groups complain the bans are difficult to secure – because a magistrate requires specific evidence that a sex offender has “intent to commit a crime”.
Astonishingly only 18 Foreign Travel Orders have been issued in the past five years.
The People has identified a catalogue of predators who have fled to countries where the child sex trade is rife and are wanted by police in the UK.
Disgrace
One dangerous child sex offender who travelled abroad should now be behind bars in Britain for sex attacks on two young girls.
But Keffer James Cooper, 68, is living in the Philippines after a judge released him on bail and let him keep his passport, allowing him to slip out of the country while facing trial despite police concerns he may go on the run.
Leading child protection agencies branded the case a “disgrace”.
Cooper, from Charlton, south-east London, was convicted of a string of child sex offences at Woolwich Crown Court in February and sentenced in his absence to 10 years in prison.
Not content with evading justice, after his trial the twisted pervert even hired British lawyers from the Philippines to appeal against the length of his sentence.
Incredibly his legal bid was successful and last month High Court judges cut the fugitive’s prison term to seven years.
Lawyers representing Cooper, who has a previous offence for an attempted sexual assault, told the court his reduced sentence was “academic” because he is unlikely to return to Britain to serve his sentence.
A police source told The People: “Cooper should never have been able to get out of the country

A junior department store will generally have between 30,000 and 50,000 square feet and feature a full line of soft goods (clothing, books, and so on) and often some hard goods (appliances, furniture, and so on).
In the 1980s, major national and regional discount department stores emerged as new, significant anchors for community shopping centers. Retailers such as K-Mart (of the S.S. Kresge Corporation) and Wal-Mart became the dominant force in retail sales growth in the United States in the late 1980s. These stores, usually between 75,000 and 125,000 square feet, compete for discount shoppers with merchandise priced below that of the traditional department store. These super-discounters have become the most popular anchors in many new community strip centers because of their heavy advertising, low prices, and excellent locations, which generate shopping traffic.
Community shopping centers generally require trade areas with populations of 100,000 or more. However, these centers are often located in smaller towns that serve as a shopping area for a larger, multi-community area.

Unfortunately the tests can sometimes be misleading. In most cases they are not necessary. There is really only one condition that causes older horses not to shed their hair in summer – and that is Cushing?s disease.
So, what can be done for horses with Cushing?s disease? Vets have used a variety of medications, originally intended for human use, to treat Cushing’s disease in horses. The most effective seems to be a drug called pergolide. If the treatment is successful, as well as showing a general improvement in condition, a horse may start to shed its coat again.
Some people have found that herbal mixtures containing chaste berry extracts have helped, but others disagree.
Clipping the excessive coat will make the horse more comfortable, and may reduce the risk of skin infections. Regular corrective trimming of the feet is likely to be necessary once laminitis develops.
The onset of Cushing?s disease need not necessarily mean a horse?s days are numbered.
